The best selling book of all time says,
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?“
It is a question so deep that we only scratch the surface of the answer. In it’s most basic form, it simply means,
What would you do if you had everything you ever wanted but cannot enjoy it? The money, the fame, just name it.
Martin Luther King Jnr. didn’t leave all the blessings of heaven, he left hope that one day black men will be free, today we have a black man in the White House.
Mother Theresa, didn’t leave a lot of jewelry or mansions. She left a lot of children with a roof over their heads, food in their bellies, a hope that life wasn’t all about cruelty.
Nelson Mandela left the world with the power of forgiveness. He broke all the spoken and unspoken rules and forgave those who had mistreated him and many others just like him, like you and like me.
But wait, you may argue that you don’t have the stage they had. It’s true and I concede defeat. But you can do what they did.
You can forgive those who hurt you,
Help those who need you even if they are too proud to ask for it,
Fight for someone with no power to defend themselves.
It’s not all about the money, fame or the power, it’s about the heart.
History is owned not by men of strength, wealth and power but men and women with heart!
