I don’t like border crossings. Going through customs can be quite challenging for me. I don’t know if it has something to do with my beard or whether I just look like a criminal, but the customs officials seems to keep a very close eye on me. When we flew to the UK a few years ago, the metal detector went off as I went through, even though I had taken my belt off and emptied my pockets. Customs officials swarmed me and and quickly searched me. I had forgotten to remove the keys for the padlocks on the suitcases from my pocket. I was given a very stern lecture and sent on my way. Ever since then, going through customs has always done wonders for my prayer life.
