Who planted what?

I have realised that gardening is as much about removing what shouldn’t be there as it is about cultivating what I have planted. I have also realised that plants that grow really quickly are usually weeds. Growing my own vegetables turned out to be a constant battle between removing weeds and keeping the insects and birds from eating what did grow. No wonder most people just get their vegetables from the shop. Getting the right things to grow is hard work. In fertile soil, anything grows well, not just what we have planted.

We need to be careful what we allow to grow, not just within us, but in our lives and in that we have been entrusted…
